Kind Office Ltd was formed by Alison Lowe of Harris & Co & Darren Cogzell of DC Office Services, who jointly have been involved in most aspects of this business for many years in some shape or form, albeit for their own companies.
The idea for this business came up in conversation towards the end of 2007, when we recognised we had a shared passion for the environment and we decided to learn what we can do to be greener and reduce our own carbon footprints in our own businesses. Out of this Kind Office was born, specifically to serve the local business community by offering a range of products and services and also helping with any green objectives.

Alison is a partner in Harris & Co, established in 1855 and now the fifth generation in the Bristol family business. The work of Harris & Co has always been in recycling, taking waste from commercial and manufacturing companies to help find a use for it as a raw material.
Based in the centre of Bristol and with premises fronting Narrow Quay it became apparent in this climate of waste obligation, to team up with DC Office Services, to form a joint venture that would help fulfil environment and waste reduction obligations by diverting as much office 'waste' to recycling and re-use.
Darren has been involved in the office supplies industry for 20 years and is the Mangaging Director of DC Office Services Ltd since 2003, an office supplies company serving customers in Bristol & Bath with office supplies, equipment, furniture and print.
Darren and his team has always sold green office products to those who wanted it, and to be honest without a second thought. However it wasn't until he attended a green business conference, hosted by Spicers Office Supplies Wholesaling Group highlighting the effects of global warming by its guest speakers, Dr Paul Williams, a climate science expert from the University of Reading, eco-auditor Donnachadh McCarthy and management Accountant Anthony Day, who spoke factually about the impact of climate change made Darren realise that as an 'office supplier' he can help make a difference.
Like many people, Darren thought going green was just about buying green envelopes but it's not. It can be as simple as turning your computer off when you go home, replacing your light bulbs with energy saving ones or turning down your heating a couple of degrees.
